¿What is the FCMAT?
 The purpose of the Community Foundation of Matamoros is to obtain financing- external, national or local- that permits us to support projects that will benefit the community, through the different social assets available in the community. This area of opportunity began through the vision of certain altruistic and socially responsible citizens of Matamoros. This group continued to grow as more citizens, who wished to strengthen their community through their leadership, joined to mobilize resources and obtain funds to support the community’s projects.
It was in this manner that the FCMAT, a non-profit organization, was created in 2002.
The idea of the foundation became a reality thanks to the contribution of the Synergos Institute, who offered their support to strengthen the operations of this institution. In this way, we became a part of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy in Mexico.
¿How do We Help?
 The FCMAT deposits, administers, and channels financial resources which it receives or generates, and applies it to other institutions which work directly to solve specific problems. This is why we are a second floor institution, which means we do not work directly in the solutions of problems, but rather we support those Institutions who have the knowledge and who are committed to the solution of such problems.
We support the enthusiastic participation of benefactors, with their creativity, ability, knowledge, experience, and resources, in the construction of their own development.
The social investors contribute their social assets in a direct or indirect manner, with economic donations, or by being the pillars in successful social work.
